8.5" x 11" Metallic Gold Paper 260g 10 mil
A New World of Color
Posted by Marshall Stephenson on 7th Feb 2015
I received your Metallic Gold in 8x10 last week.To my delight I have found that I can pull just about any fine art file that I have and create an entirely new fine art print by reprinting on Finestra Metallic Gold or Silver . Black and white prints take on a new artistic look. A note of caution... Don't grab these prints with your grimy fingers when they pops out of the printer, because your print may not be completely dry, depending on the printer you are using. My experience has shown that the Canon dye inks for the Pro100 dry a little faster that the pigment inks for the Pro10 on the Gold. The Metallic Gold yields exceptional prints with both inks. This paper provides a fun new world of color and printing. I am using Krylon Crystal Clear acrylic coating with both Gold and Silver papers. By laying the prints prematurely on top of each other, I scratched a big 13x19 print. The Krylon is my insurance and it is recommended. Get some! (Paper)
***Note From Finestra*** - Metallic Gold/Silver use an optically clear coating that is NOT instant dry. Instant dry coatings are milky in appearance which doesn't matter on white base but on silver/gold we get the great look we do by using this coating. You may use the Krylon product but we can't guarantee its effectiveness vs. our own Photographers Friend Lacquer Based Spray which gives UV protection, scratch protection, water resistance and sets inks. It's found in our finishing products section and one can is good for up to 50 8x10 prints and can be used to protect ANY prints.
Gorgeous - Unique uses

Finestra says this gold paper is good for signage and b & w. I would say that's just the beginning. I printed some high color photos and got some great results - unlike anyhting I've ever seen. Colors are changed by the paper's hue, but the results are very "arty." Has to be some trial and error depending on ur source, but results can be excellent. I recommend their spary-on coating as surface can be a bit "tacky" depending on amount of ink used. I tried the "sample pack" of silver, gold, and metallic pearl and am going back for more of all three.
